Every control writes through immediately — there's no Save button and no dirty state, so closing the window never discards a change. ## General - **Keep looking for new sessions** — antiburn re-reads your agents' session files while the popover is open. Turning this off stops that background pass; everything already indexed stays readable, and you can still scan on demand. - **Historical scan** — "Scan now" reads every session file antiburn can find on this machine from the start, showing when the last scan finished (or that nothing has been scanned yet). - **Show the last [N] days** — how far back the popover's activity list reaches (1–14 days). This only changes what's listed; indexed sessions outside the window stay on the machine. - **Indexed sessions** — a read-only count of sessions and the local database's size. Retention is controlled from Privacy; your agents' own files are never touched. - **Launch antiburn on startup** — starts automatically in the menu bar. - **Run setup again** — returns to the Welcome step of onboarding. Indexed sessions, scan folders, repository choices, and current preferences all stay on the machine. ## Privacy - **Share product analytics** — on by default in release builds; turning it off immediately deletes the local analytics identifier and anything still queued to send. Absent from every development build and from any build made from a clean checkout of the source. - **Keep session data** — local retention: **30 days**, **90 days**, or **Forever** (the default). Forever can preserve history past a provider's own 30-day window; shortening it prompts a confirmation, since it removes data immediately for sessions older than the new period. - **Clear the local index** — forgets every session, analysis, evidence, and scan record, after a confirmation. Agent transcripts are untouched and reappear on the next scan; preferences, scan folders, and repository choices are kept. - **Delete a coding agent's own files** — stated as a non-feature: antiburn cannot do this. Removing a conversation is your agent's own job, in its own interface. - **Export diagnostics** — a JSON file covering up to 500 recent indexed sessions. Excludes transcript bodies, titles, paths, working directories, repository names, account identifiers, and analytics identifiers; includes opaque session ids and derived model, tool, skill, timing, evidence, and error data — review before sharing, since model/tool/skill names can still describe real work. ## Notifications - **Notify me** — the master switch; see the [Notifications](/docs/app/notifications/) page for what each kind covers. - **Sound** — plays a short chime for the test notification only. - **Respect Do Not Disturb** — automated nudges stay quiet while Focus or Do Not Disturb is on; macOS asks once for permission to read that state. - **Auto-dismiss time** — how long a notification stays before it fades (3–30 seconds). - **Test notification** — shows a sample notification exactly as a real one would appear; bypasses every gate, including Do Not Disturb, because it's a direct action. - **Position** (macOS) — under the menu-bar icon, or the screen's top-right corner. - **5-hour milestones / Weekly milestones** — which quota percentages notify, chosen separately for each window, in 5% steps, with select-all and clear-all. These only fire while Settings → Usage is set to keep refreshing. - **Remaining disk space** (macOS) — whether to show free space next to the menu-bar icon (always / when low / never), the threshold that counts as low (25/50/100GB), and whether crossing it notifies you. ## Usage - **Keep my plan limits current** — on by default once setup is complete. Asks each provider directly for your current usage every five minutes (more often while visible), using credentials your own coding tools already hold — your own connection, made as you. Turning it off stops every such request and also stops usage-milestone notifications, which need readings that keep moving. - **Show floating usage HUD** (macOS) — shows or hides the [floating HUD](/docs/app/floating-hud/). - **Show Meter** — a per-provider switch. Hiding a provider here stops antiburn asking it for usage and stops that provider's milestone notifications, the same two consequences as the master switch above, just scoped to one provider. ## Insights - **Check again** — recomputes the 30-day local Insights report on demand; otherwise it's kept current automatically. Everything on this pane is computed on this device from local session transcripts, and nothing is uploaded. ## Sources - **Folder permission notice** (macOS) — appears only when a scanned repository sits inside a folder macOS guards (Documents, Desktop, Downloads) that antiburn hasn't been granted access to yet. Walks you through granting access one folder at a time, offers "Check again" after a change in System Settings, and can copy diagnostics for a stuck grant. antiburn never triggers the system permission dialog on its own — only this explicit flow does. - **Scanning** — shows whether a scan is running and a manual "Rescan" button. - **Coding agents** — a switch per agent.
